Oregano Essential Oil is steam distilled from the flowering aerial parts of Origanum vulgare subsp. hirtum, an aromatic herb native to the Mediterranean region. The plant has been valued for centuries both as a culinary herb and for its traditional aromatic uses.

The name oregano comes from the Greek words oros (mountain) and ganos (joy), often translated as “joy of the mountains”. According to Greek mythology, the herb was created by Aphrodite as a symbol of happiness and wellbeing.

This particular oregano essential oil originates from Greece and is produced by steam distillation. It is naturally rich in carvacrol, giving the oil its powerful herbaceous aroma and exceptionally strong aromatic character.
