How to do a complete facial at home

Sometimes it is good to stay at home, do a complete facial and boost your self-confidence before an important appointment or going out with friends.

Doing a complete facial at home can be fun too. Some nice lounge music, your favourite essential oil in the burner will create a relaxing atmosphere.

Today we are going to indulge in to 100% natural essential oils based treatments inspired by aromatherapy.

How to do a facial at home

Before any skin treatment, always make sure your skin is ‘fresh’ and cleansed, so that it is free of impurities and prepared for easy absorption.

Cleansing

For makeup remover use some jojoba carrier oil. Jojoba oil is an excellent emollient and wonderful skin moisturiser.

After cleansing, it’s time to soothe the skin with toner that contains the key plant ingredient: Neroli Essential Oil. Neroli is the blossom of bitter orange tree, with a sweet, honeyed scent. Neroli oil can be replaced by Mandarin + Petitgrain (equal parts).

Dilute Neroli essential oil in sweet almond carrier and rose water (two drops of essential oil to a tea spoon of carrier to 100 ml of rose water).

Neroli essential oil not only helps cleanse the face but also repair and protect the skin well.

Skin toners have two effects on your skin: they remove the last traces of cleansing and help to restore the skin’s natural protective mantle.

The mask

Mix a bit of cornflower and oats together with one beaten egg white and rose water. Add 2 drops of Neroli oil. Mix well to form a paste and apply. (By the way, if you have green or white clay at home you can add a bit to your mask paste.) Leave it for at least 15 minutes.

Gently wipe your face with damp cotton wool. After that you might use your toner again.

The serum

Next is the essence of all essences! 100% natural, 100% active ingredients, a concentrate of Essential and Plant Oils – essential serum. Add rose, geranium and Neroli essential oils (2 drops each) to 100 ml of your favourite base oil.

Beauty Tip

Warm 2 drops of serum in the palms of your hands and massage gently on face and neck.

Like a flower, the skin is moisturized, perfectly hydrated and protected. Although it takes some time out of our busy day, I still believe that you are worth it.

If you have never used essential oils, and are prone to allergies, we suggest that you perform a skin patch test before using any of them.
