Essential Oils for colds
I want to talk about how essential oils can minimise the risk of getting a cold. Essential oils are composed of about 200 natural chemical components with different therapeutic actions.
Components such as pinenes are known for their ability to reduce germs, calm inflammation and offer strong respiratory support. Essential oils from the pine family can prevent colds and flu. Other conifers such as firs have a lot in common with the pines. They would calm inflammation, reduce congestion, and help to clear up the sniffles.
Essential oils such as pine, cedarwood, frankincense and lavender contain the pinenes.
They will be helpful to relieve the symptoms of cold.
Another natural chemical component 1,8 cineole reduces infections, clears mucus, and calms inflammation.
Essential oils that contain 1,8 cineole and are good for colds are eucalyptus and ravintsara. Note: only pure oil can work.
Symptoms of cold include pain in the muscles, a runny nose, sneezing and congestion.
A common cold is a viral infection of nose and throat. Essential oils decrease the spread of the virus by inhibiting the viral activity.
Eucalyptus and bergamot display a significant activity after diffusion for 10 minutes.
Tea tree oil was found very effective as an anti-viral for airborne influenza virus.
Those of you who use essential oils at home know that essential oils show potent anti-microbial and anti-viral activity. Essential oils such as bergamot, eucalyptus, geranium, cinnamon, lemongrass and thyme are very active against influenza virus.
Diffusing essential oils in your work and living space will reduce the risk of infection and boost your immune system.
If you have the essential oils such as eucalyptus, tea tree and cinnamon bark at home, add 10 drops of the oils (5/4/1) to the water in your diffuser and diffuse. Other then that get plenty of rest and fluids.
We at AromaSense suggest using Thieves synergistic blend which provides a strong antiseptic protection against viruses.
AromaSense thieves synergistic blend of essential oils with anti-viral and anti-septic activities is effective in diffusers. If you diffuse 5-10 drops of thieves in your living and working space, you protect and prevent yourself and your family and colleges from getting the virus.
Thieves synergistic blend contains clove, cinnamon, eucalyptus, lemon, and rosemary essential oils.
Aromatherapy’s best advice is do not wait for the symptoms, prevent them.
