Natural headache relief while pregnant
Natural headache relief while pregnant
I am often asked what essential oils to use while pregnant. There are some guidelines to follow when you would like to use essential oils during pregnancy.
For people who are not certified aromatherapists the safest way will be to blend with a 1%dilution of essential oils. Another important thing to consider will be to stick with only a few safe oils that do not come with precautions.
Some of the essential oils due to their great potency may harm the mother and foetus or even cause miscarriage.
What the safe essential oils can is to benefit well-being of the expectant mother as well as minimise discomforts of pregnancy.
Why it is important to talk to a certified aromatherapist?
Because blending for pregnant women requires an in-depth knowledge and expertise.
Obviously not all the essential oils can be used during pregnancy. The oils which promote circulation should be avoided.
According to the therapeutic rules of using essential oils safely while pregnant there are some essential oils that may be of help. They are Lavender, Lavandula angustifolia, Frankincense, Boswellia carterii, Roman chamomile, Chamaemelum nobile, and sweet Orange, Citrus sinensis. And they should be used in a 1%dilution. The safe application will be through massage or inhalation.
As for natural headache relief while pregnant we know that headaches are brought on by muscular tension.
The following essential oils are helpful to relieve tension when pregnant:
Where Lavender improves sleep quality, alleviates discomfort, and may relieve pain.
Neroli is an excellent tonic and antiseptic.
Chamomile fosters relaxation and relieves pain.
Ylang yang is calming, brings relaxation, releases tension and nervous irritability.
I also like to mention that oil like Rose absolute may provide emotional support.
Try any of the above-mentioned oils and method of application, such as massage or inhalation, direct or diffusing, to relieve and prevent.
What brings you the most relief is probably the best option.
